This is a prestigious achievement that officially places INOC within the elite network of European facilities capable of offering the <strong>highest surgical<\/strong> and <strong>clinical<\/strong> <strong>standards<\/strong> for the treatment of ovarian cancer. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Center is the only facility in Piedmont dedicated entirely to <strong>the diagnosis and <\/strong> <strong>treatment of <\/strong>this disease. With over 5,400 new cases diagnosed each year in Italy, the Ovarian Cancer Center stands out for its use of the <strong>HIPEC <\/strong>technique <strong>in <\/strong>advanced cases. As <strong>Dr. Luigi Carlo Turco<\/strong> explains, this procedure \u201cconsists of an abdominal \u2018irrigation\u2019 with high-temperature chemotherapy performed directly in the operating room.\u201d The combined action of heat and targeted drugs targets residual cancer cells without affecting the rest of the body, <strong>reducing mortality by 33%<\/strong> and the <strong>risk of recurrence by 34%.<\/strong> Furthermore, clinical data show a doubling of <strong>5-year<\/strong> survival rates, rising from <strong>20% to 40%<\/strong> thanks to the use of HIPEC.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ovarian Cancer Center also uses cutting-edge technologies such as the <strong>Da Vinci Single Port <\/strong>robot <strong>for <\/strong>early-stage cancers, \u201cwhich allows us,\u201d explains Dr. Turco, \u201c \u201cto operate through a single incision of just a few centimeters, ensuring the same oncological radicality as traditional surgery, but with <strong>minimal cosmetic impact<\/strong> and a <strong>drastic reduction in<\/strong> postoperative <strong>pain<\/strong>.\u201d Thanks to a multidisciplinary approach, the Institute tackles complex cases by operating simultaneously on the abdomen and chest.
