YOUR TREATMENT JOURNEY

From the first visit to admission

Receiving a possible cancer diagnosis—or confirmation of one—means embarking on a journey that requires support and solidarity. Here’s how we guide you through every step of the way.

FIRST VISIT OR DIAGNOSTIC TEST

You can schedule the service requested by your doctor or a specialist via the CUP by phone, at a service counter, or through the online portal. If cancer is suspected, you will be referred to the Reception and Services Center (CAS).

INTERVIEW AT THE WELCOME AND SERVICES CENTER (CAS)

The CAS welcomes you and provides information about the available services and how to access them. It assembles the interdisciplinary care team assigned to your case, schedules the necessary treatments, and manages your medical records. It also refers you to the Institute’s support services, including the social worker, psychological support, and volunteers.

MULTIDISCIPLINARY CARE

Throughout your treatment, you will be cared for by an Interdisciplinary Care Team (ICT) dedicated to your condition, consisting of oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, and other specialists. The team works together to develop the treatment plan that best suits your needs.

PRE-HOSPITALIZATION AND HOSPITALIZATION

If your treatment plan includes a hospitalization, you will be contacted to undergo all necessary pre-admission tests. You will then be notified of your admission date and provided with information on visiting hours, hospitality services, and patient reception.

FOLLOW-UP

Depending on the condition, follow-up care involves monitoring with varying durations and frequencies of tests. Even at this stage, the tests will be scheduled sequentially by the CAS.
