Dr. Chiara Lazzari is a medical oncologist specializing in thoracic malignancies.
Education & Training
She earned her Medical Degree from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University in Milan, followed by a residency in Medical Oncology at the University of Milan. She later completed a PhD in Molecular Medicine, also at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University.
Career
Dr. Lazzari has built her career across leading oncology centers in Italy and Spain. In Milan, she trained and worked at both the European Institute of Oncology and San Raffaele Hospital. She then joined the Catalan Institute of Oncology in Barcelona, where she worked under Dr. Rafael Rosell on translational research into KRAS-mutant lung adenocarcinoma — research aimed at better understanding this genetically defined subset of non-small cell lung cancer.
Since 2022, she has been based at INOC – Istituto Nazionale Oncologico di Candiolo, where she holds several roles:
• Active member of the Lung Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (GIC)
• Head of the Mesothelioma Multidisciplinary Team
• Member of the Phase I Clinical Trials Unit
Her work spans both direct patient care and translational research, bridging laboratory findings with clinical application.
