Dr. Enrico Checcucci graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Turin, where he subsequently completed his residency in Urology and, in 2022, obtained a Master’s Degree in Advanced Robotic and Laparoscopic Urological Surgery. In 2014, he worked as a Clinical Research Fellow at King’s College London and Guy’s Hospital.
He has extensive clinical and research experience in uro oncology, with a particular focus on innovative diagnostic approaches to prostate cancer. He has performed more than 600 targeted prostate biopsies using fusion biopsy techniques and has participated in more than 500 laparoscopic and robotic procedures as part of Professor Francesco Porpiglia’s team. He is certified as a First Assistant for the da Vinci Single Port (SP) robotic platform.
His surgical expertise also includes endoscopic procedures involving the upper and lower urinary tract, including the treatment of renal, ureteral and bladder stones, bladder cancer and benign prostatic hyperplasia. He is also qualified to perform focal treatment of prostate cancer using high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), as well as robotic waterjet hydroablation (Aquabeam/Aquablation) for benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Since 2020, he has been working at INOC as a Urologist and serves as Coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Care Group for Urological Malignancies.
Within the European Association of Urology (EAU), he has held several positions, including Past Chairman of the European Society of Residents in Urology, and is a member of several EAU sections and committees, including YAU, YUO, ESUI and GO.
He is the author and co author of more than 200 scientific publications and conference contributions and has an H index of 36.
