Dr. Mariaenrica Cruto graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Turin, where she subsequently completed her residency in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care. She also obtained a Level II Master’s Degree in Pain Therapy, a Level II Master’s Degree in Palliative Care, and completed an advanced course in Clinical Methodology of Headaches: Research and Therapy. In addition, she holds Master’s Degrees in Bioethics and in Science and Faith from the Faculty of Theology of Turin.
Throughout her career, she has worked at hospitals in Susa, Avigliana and San Giovanni Antica Sede in Turin.
Since 1999, she has been working at INOC within the Anaesthesia and Intensive Care and Hospice and Pain Therapy Service. Her clinical activities include the operating theatre, Intensive Care Unit, active anaesthesia on call, pre admission outpatient clinic, pain therapy outpatient clinic and Hospice care.
She has undertaken extensive continuing professional development in Pain Therapy and Palliative Care, including training programmes organised by the Pallio Centre under the auspices of the Piedmont Region Health and Welfare Department, as well as the national advanced course in neuropathic pain sponsored by the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the University of Naples.
She has participated in numerous national and international congresses and professional events in the fields of Pain Therapy and Palliative Care.
She is also a lecturer in Pain Therapy in Cancer Patients for the Pharmacy degree programme at the University of Turin.
