Dr. Simona Cauda graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Turin in 2008 and subsequently completed her residency in Nuclear Medicine at the University Hospital “City of Health and Science” of Turin in 2014.
During her training, she also gained clinical experience at other hospitals in Turin, including Ospedale Mauriziano and San Luigi Gonzaga Hospital in Orbassano. In March 2022, she obtained the SIUMB National Diploma of Competence in Clinical Ultrasound.
Since 2015, she has been working at INOC, where she is a member of the Nuclear Medicine Team and of the interdisciplinary care groups (GICs) for gastroenterological and head and neck cancers. She is also a member of the Piedmont and Aosta Valley Oncology Network study groups on head and neck and pancreatic cancers, actively contributing to the development of regional diagnostic and therapeutic care pathways (PDTAs).
She has extensive experience in nuclear medicine imaging using a wide range of radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals, particularly in oncology. Her expertise includes PET imaging with 18F FDG, 18F Choline, 18F PSMA and 18F Fluciclovine, as well as a broad range of scintigraphic examinations, including bone scintigraphy with HDP, lung perfusion scintigraphy, lymphoscintigraphy for breast cancer and melanoma, upper and lower limb lymphoscintigraphy, and thyroid scintigraphy.
She also has experience in nuclear medicine therapies, including radioembolisation with radioactive microspheres for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma and hepatic metastases.
She is the author and co author of scientific publications and has presented her work at national and international conferences.
